It’s Good to Talk - 8th Dec 2009

Part of the success of NODA is that it offers support and advice to all when asked. Issues such as ‘cost of productions’, ‘how to sell your show’, ‘child protection’ and many more are common themes affecting all societies but its comforting to know that no-one stands-alone. Problems may appear to be overwhelming but can be eased with a friendly chat from fellow members that have gone through past ‘insurmountable’ worries in putting on a show. Resolutions are found in many forms, so shared experiences help many to put those worries behind and allow everyone to get on with the enjoyment of each production.

Some Districts have held meetings focusing on sharing thoughts and views certainly portraying that no-one is alone and help, if sought, is out there. Most recently District 10 held a ‘Best Practice’ evening which discussed mutual problems. Contact Andrew Carpenter for further details of its outcome if you wish andrewcarpenter@virgin.net . With the busy lives that everyone leads these days it’s not an easy task to set aside an evening (or lunchtime perhaps) for such an event but if you wish to pursue the issue, don’t forget you can always contact your Regional Rep and enquire as to the possibility.
